VEHICLE FOOTPRINT
Every vehicle leaves behind a CO2e footprint throughout its life-cycle. This life-cycle includes the procurement, production, use and recycling or disposal of raw materials and other materials. CO2 equivalents (CO2e) are a unit of measurement to standardise the climate impact of different greenhouse gases, such as methane.
Emissions generated along the supply chain, by transport logistics and upstream energy provision, are reported as CO2e. Electricity produced from regenerative in-house generation systems, direct supply contracts and certified proof of origin are all taken into account when allowing for electricity from renewable energy sources.

Your MINI Cooper E will be handed over to you with approx.13.6 tonnes of CO2e.
During the usage phase of the vehicle, we adopt WLTP consumption and a mileage of 200,000 km (approx. 125.000 mls). The mode of generation of the electricity used here has a major influence on the climate impact of your vehicle. A small amount of 0.6 t is allowed for the inclusion of CO2e from the construction of the energy infrastructure.
Public charging within the MINI Charging Network ensures that the equivalent amount of energy consumed with each charge is fed back into the power grid as electricity from renewable energy sources. Use of your own solar power you generate at home is possible with Connected Home Charging. This makes the MINI Cooper E CO2-emission-free while driving.
Emission values in the life-cycle assessment are equipment-specific and are given here for the MINI Cooper E left-hand drive version. The figures throughout the various life-cycle phases will differ for other models we offer.

Download PDF MINI has been synonymous with innovative consumption and range improvement solutions for generations of vehicles. It is therefore a key element of the BMW Group Sustainability Strategy. Key factors affecting greater driving enjoyment coupled with lower consumption and longer range include lightweight construction through the use of an optimised material mix of high-strength steels along with aluminum.
Moreover, favourable aerodynamic properties of the MINI Cooper E with a drag coefficient value from 0.27 increase efficiency through the use of aerodynamic wheels, intelligent air flap control and a smooth vehicle underbody. These factors optimise the consumption of the MINI Cooper E to 14.3 –13.8 kWh/100 km (4.3 – 4.5 mls/kWh) and also have a positive impact on the range.
Intelligent heat management with a heat pump and Max Range mode in the MINI Cooper E also provide greater efficiency. The latter mode is capable of increasing the range by up to 25% compared to Core mode, depending on the driving situation.
But you, the driver, as ever, are also a crucial influencing factor. You can save energy through an efficient driving style, depending on the route and traffic situation.
We adhere to these principles of circularity in order to conserve natural resources and retain high-quality materials in circulation over the long term. We therefore use secondary materials in new components. In addition, we are also increasing the recyclability of components through the design process and in product development.
The new MINI Cooper E has a calculated secondary material content of approx. 9%. This value has been calculated at its start of production in 2023 based on specific supplier records and average industry values and also includes production residues.
The cells of the High-voltage battery contain approx. 10% secondary material, thereof approx. 35% is secondary nickel and approx. 35% is secondary cobalt.
Depending on the material, the use of secondary materials can make a major contribution to reducing the CO2e footprint.
In relation to the entire vehicle, at least 85% of materials are recycled and, including thermal utilisation, at least 95% as stipulated by legal requirements (European End-of-Life Vehicles Directive ELV 2000 /53 /EC). And, in accordance with current regulations, we also currently take back and recycle used vehicles at over 2,800 redemption points in 30 countries.

With its clean and flush surfaces, sleek lines and balanced proportions, the exterior has been meticulously crafted into a self-assured, striking form.

The fabric is made from high-quality, recycled materials and knitted with a unique 2D technique. To achieve maximum go-kart feeling, we applied key design criteria when developing the all-electric MINI Cooper. We enhanced driving dynamics for instance thanks to the low centre-of-gravity due to the battery placement.
We achieve thrilling MINI handling by optimising weight distribution and using a direct steering ratio coupled with a small steering wheel.
We boost lateral dynamics and grip by optimising tyrewidth. And latest hardware and software enabled us to make handling even more playful and thrilling especially in the Go-Kart Mode.

Driving at a steady pace, rather than frequent, foot-down acceleration, will help you optimise your range. The Green mode offers you a consumption-reducing setting. It helps you get used to using the pedal to stay in an efficient range. If the efficiency meter strip glows green, you’re doing fine. If you speed up too powerfully, it’ll turn grey. It evaluates your efficiency since the start of your journey – and shows you how many bonus miles you’ve collected.

SUSTAINABILITY
MINI has already made considerable progress in terms of sustainable manufacturing, but we know we’re still a long way from our destination.
At MINI, we are committed to pioneering a balance that embraces MINI performance and iconic design with sound environmental credentials. This commitment is born out of our actions. We now offer a completely animal-friendly, leather-free interior using sustainable, partly recycled materials. Our 2D flat knit for dashboards, door panels and lids is made from over 90% recycled polyester fibers. And our new generation wheels are now made from up to 70% secondary aluminium.

And our new steering wheels fulfil all the demanding criteria when it comes to appearance, wear and durability.
The dashboard and armrests in our doors are now fitted with a quality knitted textile made of recycled polyester yarn. Following an innovative process that turns over 90% of recycled polyester fibres into a 2D flat woven fabric, we then use this textile for the knitted parts of the dashboard and the door panels. The process uses around 98% less water than cotton, and it reduces CO2 emissions by around 80% compared to conventional polyester processing.
Our guiding principle during the design process and product development is “reclaimed first.” Up to 70% of reclaimed aluminium from aluminium scrap is used for the rims in our new-generation MINI vehicles. In conjunction with the green electricity used, we save around 90% of the energy required compared with primary aluminium production. For the very first time in a MINI the interior features a modern 3D-knitted textile. Two-tone black/blue knitted material on the dash and doors contrasts playfully with the high-quality Vescin leather seats which are available in Grey or Black and sport a perforated houndstooth pattern. The three spoke sports steering wheel is embellished by stitching and accents in Vibrant Silver. On the exterior, the grille surround is in Black High Gloss offset by the MINI logo resplendent in Vibrant Silver. You also have the option to configure a contrast roof.
